The tool box is good. Best if it is used at a stationary area instead of keeping in the back of a pickup or something. When the tool box has tools in the drawers they open to easily.

Earlier in the year I purchased the Homak 3-drawer tool chest in black and liked it enough to get a second one in red. I have many smaller tools which need serious protection and organized storage space on my bench. This and the first one filled the bill for me and at a good price. The Homak measures 20.5" wide by 11.75" high with lid closed by 8.5" deep. The metal measures 22 gauge (0.031") using a micrometer and making allowance for the enamel coating. I wouldn't let it bounce around in the back of a truck day after day. Other than that one caveat it is well-built and should tolerate moderate abuse. The drawers work nicely and have a storage clearance of a little under 2 inches. The top tray has a clearance of slightly more than 4 inches with the lid closed. This box should give many years of good service so long as one doesn't beat the hell out of it.

The first one I got had rust bubbles under the paint on the top. But Amazon's return process is totally painless, so another one came to the door a few days later. The fact it was rusting was a bit concerning The second one is fine. The metal is thin, so there were some deformations to one of the sides as a result of shipping. The sliding action of the drawers is very good. Snug, not wobbly or loose. The locking clips are a bit cheap. The padding in the bottom of each drawer is a good touch. Overall, it's a decent box for the price. I won't be moving it around, so it works well. If you knock it around in the back of a truck, it definitely won't last long.

First thing I did was try to yank open a drawer...wrong. You need the top open completely for the drawer locking mechanism to release. It doesn't appear that I damaged it by "forcing" it open with one big pull. Other than that, it's a nice high quality tool box.

This box has a nice appearance and features with the ball bearing rollers and drawer mats. It is very light weight construction. It's fine to sit on a workbench at home to organize tools, but it would not be sturdy enough for frequent transport or heavy use. Since there are less expensive 3 drawer units I expected this one to be a little more heavy duty.

I purchased this tool box to store a variety of model ship building tools. The three pull-out drawers do not have any dividers, which is perfect for storing tools of various sizes. The drawers even have a rubber-type lining, which is really nice. The top section, which is hinged at the back of the chest, is somewhat deeper than the drawers and works well for storing larger items. Buy this tool box and you will be extremely satisfied.

my husband is a carpenter and the smaller tool box he had at work could'nt fit all of his tools. this one is the perfect size for all his tools. there is even room to fit more tools he will soon be buying....most likely from amazon.

Bought this on Amazon after researching quite a bit for a ~$50 home tool box. Compared Craftsman, Snap-on, Grizzly and Homak; Homak came ahead in terms of quality of construction, features (like Ball Bearing drawers - which is really nice) and of course price. Bought the "Red" version and simply love it. Go ahead and get one - you wont be disappointed..

It's sturdy and durable. I can organize bunch of my tools in there. It's a better option than the cheap plastic tools boxes that tend to break here and there..

I was looking for a 3 drawer tool box, and found that most didn't have ball bearing drawers. This does, and they work well. You can really notice a difference. However... If you fill 3 drawers, the unit gets pretty heavy. Mine fell from the hood of a car I was working on, and damaged one of the open drawers. I was able to get things bent back into shape, but it is not perfect. I also have an issue with how the drawers lock into place. It looks like they are closed, but you have to give each drawer and extra push so they click into place - or else they can slide open when the lid is closed. Even though they look closed, they are not. If I had to do it again, I'd get a smaller 2 drawer unit, and keep it light.
